Who we are looking for:

Mirum, a Wunderman Thompson company, is seeking a Senior Director, Commerce Strategy & Planning to join the team in our Rogers office. As a Senior Director, Commerce Strategy & Planning, you are responsible for identifying retail commerce opportunities for clients, defining a strategic framework and collaboratively building insight-based retail activation solutions. Our solutions include strategic, seamless customer experiences driving conversion at retail both on-line and in-store. 

You will partner with Account leads to audit existing client commerce models and uncover opportunities. You will audit the Brand, the Retailer and the Shopper to generate actionable insights and build a strategic framework with which to brief the internal cross-functional team. By informing and inspiring, your briefs will kick off our solutions process, beginning first with a Big Idea which is then brought to life through a seamless digital and physical commerce activation plan.

You will work with your team, the internal cross-functional team, third party vendors and retailer marketing teams to build the commerce activation plan. Our solutions are digital-heavy and showcase our deep expertise in Social, but we do value the understanding of how digital and physical interact to drive commerce. You will partner with Analytics team to define relevant KPIs, monitor results and contribute to insightful post-program wrap reports.

Our clients range from large CPGs to smaller players, mature brands to new brands – each looking to Mirum to provide solutions that drive a shopper to take a specific commerce action at a specific moment.  Our operating models include working directly with clients and also working as part of multi-agency solutions.  You will need to flex into each operating model and provide the Commerce Strategy solution for that specific ask.

What you'll do:

  • Identify Commerce Opportunities for new and existing clients
  • Audit Brand, Retailer and Shopper (inclusive of social audits, content audits, gap analysis) synthesizing output into actionable insights
  • Write informative and inspiring briefs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team as well as clients and other agency partners to build best in class solutions for clients nationally and at specific retailers.
  • Provide internal feedback on all solutions developed for the client
  • Evaluate program performance and provide recommendations on program results
  • Maintain an extensive knowledge base of industry, retailer, brand, category and competitive knowledge
  • Research new digital commerce capabilities and tactics
  • Serve as a thought leader, idea generator and source of inspiration

What you'll need:

  • Demonstrated interest and experience in areas of strategy, retail marketing, digital marketing, activation strategy, or shopper marketing
  • 8 -10 years relevant work experience
  • Ability to identify commerce opportunities for existing and new clients, with emphasis on retail (vs marketplace or D2C)
  • Ability to audit Retailer, Shopper and Brand spaces to generate actionable insights
    • Experience working in both quantitative (data) and qualitative (brand, design) frameworks
    • Deep Retailer Knowledge
    • Ability to synthesize vast amounts of information into informative and inspiring briefs
  • Ability to build strategic, seamless customer experiences driving conversion both on-line and in-store
  • KPI identification and evaluation of post-program analytics to inform wrap reports and lessons learned
  • Strong collaboration skills, both with internal, cross-functional teams and with clients
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that values an entrepreneurial spirit
