Who we are looking for:

Wunderman Thompson is seeking a Senior Analyst to join the team in our Atlanta office. The Senior Analyst is a critical role to innovate and grow the technology, tools, data, and analytics that support our client’s eCommerce growth initiatives through advanced reporting, dashboards, and statistical analyses. They acquire and combine data from multiple online data sources to manage our analytics reporting, data visualizations, and custom analyses. Our analytics products and services serve both internal and external/client stakeholders with the goal of driving incremental revenue growth on Amazon and other major eCommerce channels through data-driven optimizations. The Senior Analyst also works closely with broader agency teams including Marketing, Content, Operations, and Business Development to provide data-driven insights and new solutions.

You are an experienced analyst with a passion for data and strategic analysis across our core workstreams including Marketing, Content, Operations, and Business Insights.

What you’ll do:

  • Insights | Uncover and highlight new insights for client discovery in our analytical products & services.
  • Streamline | Optimize and streamline Excel reports by helping identify and implement programmatic dashboard solutions that further automate our products and services.
  • Tools expert | Serve as the power user or administrator of our BI tools including MySQL, Python, Power BI, and Excel.
  • Decoding | Write, maintain, and update Python scripts to scrape data from client product websites, or through other software coding solutions.
  • Simplify | Identify and implement internal process improvements to automate or optimize manual processes, data delivery, and design/support of the data infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Best practice | Define and implement best practices for data acquisition, transformation, and analyses required for data-driven recommendations to clients.
  • Collaborate | Partner with IT support teams and developers on API code updates, and SQL server maintenance, updates, and cloud migrations.
  • Analytics | Work with Marketing, Media, Content, Operations, and Business Development teams on their reporting and analysis requests, as well as ongoing analytics improvements as needed.
  • Trends | Add insights across account health performance including trend analysis client presentations. Recommend new tools and methods to improve our overall analytics practice.

Who you are:

What you’ll need:

  • 3-6 years advanced knowledge and proficiency with MySQL/SQL and relational databases, as well as related query languages for data acquisition, transformation, and storage.
  • 2-5 years advanced Excel proficiency and solution development with Excel macros, VBA scripts, Power Query, and Power Pivot.
  • 2-4 years of experience with building online analytics reporting across relevant industries including eCommerce, digital marketing, content analytics, and/or and supply chain KPIs.
  • 1-2 years of experience managing or updates tools and dashboards including Power BI, Tableau, Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, and Adobe Analytics.
  • 1-2 years of experience with Python or other current coding languages.
  • Strong analytical skills related to working with multiple dataset formats and structures.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in new data collection technologies and tool trends in eCommerce.

 Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, math, economics, or other analytical fields.
  • Experience with root cause and regression analysis to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvements and optimizations.
  • Previous eCommerce analytics role with leading online retailers or major brands’ direct-to-consumer eCommerce analytics.
  • 2-3 years working knowledge and portfolio examples of data visualizations developed in online dashboards, preferably Power BI or Tableau.
  • 1-2 years of experience with Amazon APIs including AWS and Merch Web Services.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including presenting data analysis for C-level audiences.
