Who we are looking for:
Wunderman Thompson is seeking a Senior Art Director with a keen eye for creating work that demands attention. Our Senior Art Directors collaborate with creative thinkers united by the simple passion for making things better. Deep interest in social media and emerging technology is essential for this role. An avid consumer of popular culture with a developed eye for excellence in social media, the Senior Art Director will enjoy exploring clear space.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong design sensibility and the ability to recognize how social media can be leveraged to enhance and drive big campaign ideas and editorial content. We value interdisciplinary collaboration and avoiding silos, sharing a passion for finding great experiences, challenging existing archetypes, and crafting the future of brands. This role requires independence and leadership – confidence in one’s creative sensibilities is key. We’re looking for storytellers with the talent to transform great ideas into engaging creative content. A one-two punch of confidence and inspiration. We are seeking a creative who enjoys selling ideas as much as crafting them.
What you'll do:
- Break | Create interactive concepts and campaigns. Embrace the unknown, recognizing that truly great social content knows no rules. You will be excited to create new and experiment rather than default to existing plug-ins. You see technology as a tool for creativity.
- Translate | Capture brand voice in interactive marketing materials from conception to execution of final deliverables. Be the voice for your team.
- Craft | Juggle many projects and campaigns simultaneously. Conceptualize new campaign ideas and social tactics based on established voice and tone for myriad social platforms.
- Collaborate | Partner with the copywriters for the timely development and execution of campaigns and projects, including the concepting and execution of final deliverables. Team up with account services to understand client goals, strategy, and feedback. Serve as a respected mentor to your team to execute interactive projects and tackle deadlines.
- Energize | Spearhead client reviews, and work with team to achieve results. Present creative material in both internal and client meetings. Participate in client presentations, and manage client contact as necessary. Contribute concepts and ideas to new business pitches, pro-bono initiatives, and in-house projects.

- Visionary | Energizes and inspires creative team by communicating a compelling client vision, playing a part in the development of team members. You are a social expert, knowing current social trends and what’s coming up next.
What you'll need:
- 3-5 years of advertising/marketing background with extensive client experience.
- 2+ years of art direction or creative experience in an agency setting is strongly preferred, with experience in social content creation.
- Animation and video-editing experience is a huge plus!
- Up-to-date creative portfolio with successfully launched client projects, demonstrating social experience and beyond.
- Demonstrated social-first design and layout ability, along with typographic skills.
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud and other relevant artistic tools.
- Previous experience as a team lead or managing a group, with demonstrated team-lead experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management skills with a solid work ethic.
- Conceptual and strategic thinker, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of interactive medium and new technologies.
