Who we are looking for:
International Meetings and Science, a division of Wunderman Thompson, is seeking an Account Supervisor to join the team in our Stamford, Connecticut office. The Account Supervisor (AS) serves as the authority and partner to their assigned client accounts for the company’s market access products or services ensuring that all projects are progressing as needed, identifying additional client needs, and selling in new projects and services to meet those needs.
What you’ll do:
- Client | Partner with clients to control account from “soup to nuts” including, providing strategic insight & recommend projects and changes; developing strategic, tactical and business plans; onsite account representative at meetings, ad boards, etc. demonstrate a full understanding of the therapeutic category and the project history with the Agency and in the marketplace, if applicable. Sell the company’s market access products or services in partnership with VP or SVP including organic growth of assigned client accounts and recognition of opportunities with clients & gaps in the marketplace and product plan. Travel to meetings as needed (25-35% when offices reopen).
- Manage | Manage budget and profitability by taking responsibility and accountability; partnership with Business Manager; possess a full understanding of billing, fees, and profit. Liaise with outside vendors as needed
- Team | Supervise team; demonstrate strong leadership, provide direction and professional development. Partner with scientific counterpart. Participate in proposal writing and new business pitches as well as create and/or edit client presentations
- Process | Demonstrate expertise and ensure adherence to internal processes, ACCME, OIG, and HCC guidelines. Monitor marketplace/industry to have full command of drug awareness and identity to consumers, physicians, etc.

- Problem solver | Ensure quality control by reviewing agency products including: creative work, financial analyses, key client communications, key schedules, creative strategies, and strategic decks. Assist with day-to-day account problem solving by providing guidance to junior team and raising issues and solutions to senior team. Dig in and figure out how to work around problems.
- Ego-less | We all wear the hats that need wearing, it’s a mentality that makes the team successful.
What you’ll need:
- 4-6 years of industry-related (pharmaceutical/healthcare advertising preferred) experience.
- Strong communication and effective organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to understand and interpret clinical data.
- Financial aptitude to develop and manage project budgets.
- Understanding of major market healthcare issues/restrictions.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated managerial ability.
- Strong analytical/strategic skills and above-average interpersonal skills.
