What you’ll be doing:
You’re an ambitious Strategy professional looking to accelerate your learning curve and to help us deliver game changing campaigns for one of our biggest clients – Sage.
Sage is one of the UK’s largest and oldest technology businesses. They more or less invented the category (accounting software) and are still market leader in the UK. But changing technology, aggressive new entrants to the market and a desire to grow as a global brand mean they need to raise their marketing game.
This is where we come in. Wunderman Thompson partnered with Sage in 2020 and created the “Boss It” campaign, a bold new direction for the brand. Over the next few years, we will be taking that spirit and delivering multi-channel, global advertising and experiences to further grow Sage.
Our partnership with Sage covers large scale marketing campaigns, brand strategy, customer experience, channel marketing and many other disciplines. It’s an exciting time to work with a business as it transforms it’s approach to marketing and brand and expands internationally.
- Lead communications strategies for certain lines of business (i.e. Acccountant, specific verticals like construction or ecommerce) – proposition development, creative brief, opportunities for new creative avenues.
- Be expected to develop strategies in tandem with other strategic depts – data, UX, customer experience, etc. For example – work with data strategist to understand the audience and develop contact and messaging strategies.
- Collaborate with the wider strategy department (CX/Data) for relevant projects which require further input.
- Work closely with the client service team to provide ongoing strategic support.
- Develop close working relationships with senior members of the creative team. For instance, debating propositions, being vocal in creative WIP’s.
- Be expected to spot new creative opportunities on the account to drive innovation.
- Be given room to grow fast but with the right support.
Who you are:
You’ll have a passion for brand and communications strategy. Sage is a B2B business, but we use a lot of B2C techniques and thinking so B2B experience isn’t essential. You’ll be creatively driven and have an eye on innovations that are and will be shaping our category. You’re naturally proactive leaving no stone unturned when it comes to identifying opportunities and coming up with brilliant solutions. You believe the customer should be at the heart of everything that we do and are unrelenting about finding interesting insights. You’re a fantastic communicator and presenter and are able to articulately and persuasively tell a story and take clients with you on the journey. You are a team player and have passion and energy to inspire the teams you work with to do the best possible work.
- Experience in a strategic role; digital & CRM planning / creative / content strategy
- Proven track record of the creation and delivery of integrated marketing communications strategies, excellent creative judgement and comfortable guiding the creative process
