We are looking for an experienced front-end developer to help us create creative and user-friendly digital experiences. As front-end developer you are responsible for the implementation of digital design, user experiences requirements and micro-animations in exciting, complex digital platforms as well as fun and small creative campaigns.

You are eager to learn and to keep up with technology, but you are also pragmatic in technological and architectural choices.

You report to our Development Director. You work in a team alongside front-end developers, back-end developers and digital designers to ensure all elements of web creation are consistent. This requires you to be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Creating user-friendly and responsive websites, applications and creative campaign platforms
  • Creating and maintaining user interfaces and micro-animations
  • Incorporating creative and interactive applications, graphics, audio and video into websites
  • Testing websites for ease of use, speed and other quality factors
  • Fixing any website issues or bugs that arise
  • Work closely with account managers and project managers to make sure projects remain withing the timing and budget.
  • Help projects managers to scope and plan a project by estimating the required time. Communicate pro-actively with project and account managers about progress and hick-ups.
  • Work closely with other front-end developers, designers, back-end developers and creative teams to make sure the user experience is implemented as it was conceived.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • Proven work experience as a Front-end developer
  • Hands on experience with HTML, JavaScript (ES6), CSS, SASS and jQuery
  • Hands on experience with Javascript frameworks such as React
  • You get extra credit for experience with NextJS, Vue, Svelte, Gulp, Webpack, Lottie, GSAP, Laravel, Kirby and Drupal
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates
  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
  • Familiarity with web development architectures and server-side technology
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • Photoshop, Sketch, Figma and graphic production skills and an understanding of layout aesthetics;
  • Knowledge of atomic design principles.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles
  • An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of working in creative and/or digital agencies
  • Experience of working with both account and creative teams
  • Successful track-record of managing multiple client assignments simultaneously
  • Fluent in Dutch and/or French and English

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Over 3 years’ relevant experience in advertising or marketing
