Who we are looking for:

Wunderman Thompson is seeking a Strategy Director with strong B2B experience to play a critical role in our Seattle office. Alongside our VP, Account, Analytics Lead, and Creative Director, you will be responsible for growing and developing an existing account and creating a strong foundation for communications and campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity to flex your skills while bringing big thinking at the business, brand, and campaign level. The ideal candidate is an independent thinker, but also a doer in the best sense of the word. You have an innate curiosity in consumer behavior. Ultimately, you will focus on executing strategy at the highest level and being part of a thriving piece of business.

What you’ll do

  • Lead | Command the (virtual for now) room in client meetings when discussing the challenges and opportunities of the day, building trust and confidence in how we think and support our client. Understand the key trends that drive audience behavior and affect the way that brands communicate – always living at the intersection of brands, culture, and creativity.
  • Uncover | Uncover novel insights and develop innovative communications and experience ideas. Constantly separate signals from noise in a large quantity of information and rapidly distill it for key stakeholders and creators. Share perspectives and recommendations clearly and persuasively (both orally and in written form), demonstrating a strong storytelling capability.
  • Guide | Develop strategic deliverables that include research synthesis, creative briefs, value propositions, messaging, prospect/audience journeys, competitive analysis, content strategy, and compelling brand positioning. Contribute business and technical knowledge related to client business, consumer behavior, and digital transformation.
  • Partner | Partner with Account Leadership to oversee the translation of our clients’ vision into a roadmap that will achieve client goals, while generating work that is creatively brilliant, measurable and has a cultural impact.
  • Collaborate | Work with the data, creative and account management teams to ensure all client deliverables are flawlessly executed and on strategy.

Who you are:

  • A builder | Entrepreneurial attitude coupled with a strong business acumen. Ability and appetite to bring people together. Innate ability to marshal people and create gravity around ideas.
  • Open and collaborative | Our team is close-knit and supportive, and we’re working with a lot of unknowns – you must be a champion of team environments that are comfortable and encouraging.
  • Optimistic and resilient | Digs in and figures out how to work around problems. Yes and why not posture. Takes care of self and team. Maintains stamina and positivity.
  • Ego-less | We all wear the hats that need wearing- it’s a mentality that makes the team successful.
  • Relentlessly Curious | An avid reader and thinker. Always on the hunt for new information to form hypotheses and reinforce agency recommendations with compelling data, perspectives and evidence.

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum of 8 years of digital marketing strategy experience including experience at a digital creative agency.
  • Experience working with B2B audiences and/or healthcare industry clients.
  • Experience mining provocative insights that form the basis of creative strategies and marketing plans.
  • Strong leadership skills and a history of partnering with senior clients to achieve business and marketing goals.
  • Able to fly at multiple altitudes, excelling at high-level conceptual strategy work and the nitty-gritty of strategic implementation.
  • Understanding of available research and data resources, with the ability to apply the right method and tool to the right learning objective.
  • Proven track record of success across brand strategy, campaign planning, leading integrated agency teams, and developing multi-channel go-to-market plans.
  • Experience developing overall strategies as well as strategies for specific parts of the ecosystem.
  • Experience partnering closely with cross-functional Creative, User Experience, Account, and Analytics teams.
  • Track record of working in collaborative, fast-paced environments, while navigating the demands to structure and process.
