Who we are looking for:

Wunderman Thompson is seeking a Media Strategist. The Media Strategist has a foundation in traditional and digital media strategy and planning. This person has a wide range of experience across all media types including print, digital and social and is able to effectively plan and consult on both B2B and B2C media campaigns.The Media Strategist is an individual who is able to work independently and has the confidence and leadership to support media recommendations within the agency and to effectively present and sell them to clients.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage I Manage the media process from initial strategy development through execution stewardship to final campaign analysis. Manage and train Media Buyer and/or Media Coordinator.
  • Client I Manage the flow of client media-related issues based on marketing direction, goals and budgets. Maintain strong knowledge of client category and competitive activity. Maintain day-to-day client/agency communications. Provide new ideas to grow clients’ business. Attend all relevant client/vendor/internal meetings
  • Planning I Develop a solid understanding of the client target audiences and markets. Optimize media strategies for varying audiences and channels. Develop and present sound, strategic media plans to account team and clients, and assist Media Planners in doing so where applicable. Stay current with evolving media trends, understand how they will ultimately affect clients, and provide strategic recommendations. Manage, develop and present quarterly and yearly media recaps as needed by clients, including SOV, market/trend analysis, and competitive reports
  • Activation | Negotiate sponsorships, integrations, etc. that will provide added value to the client’s campaign. Work with Media Buyers to negotiate and optimize schedules. Meet with media representatives and analyze proposals and packages
  • Performance I Work with analytics team to QA and track campaign analytics within data platforms, analyze data, write insights and optimization recommendations, and present to clients

What you’ll need:

  • Approximately 8+ years of related industry experience
  • Experience with traditional and digital media strategy, planning and buying for B2B and B2C campaigns
  • Animal or human health experience a plus
  • Strategic aptitude, with the ability to identify and align media strategies to client business objectives
  • Demonstrated track record of client relationship development and service
  • Experience with financial management – budget and tracking reports
  • Experience with KPIs, and analysis/optimization of digital media campaigns
  • Understanding of third-party ad serving (preferably Google Campaign Manager)
  • Experience managing one or more direct reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office — PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Highly organized and responsive, with ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, environment
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to write and present well
