Who we are looking for: 

Wunderman Thompson Health is seeking a Media Manager in our Washington, DC office. The Media Manager oversees media plan development, launches, budgets, and collaborates with internal stakeholders and external media partners.

What you’ll do:  

  • Manage | Maintain timeline of media launches, budget shifts, and optimizations. Conduct quarterly internal regroups to align upcoming portfolio goals with media plan, keeping all internal media trackers up to date. Provide guidance to media agency regarding media rotations, aligning with media plan and placement. Present quarterly media optimizations and updates to client. Update media flowchart and screenshot deck consistently. Review ad hoc and quarterly media reports with strategic media lens.
  • Collaborate | Provide media perspective across variety of team deliverables (website, videos, banners, social ads, reports, etc.). Manage SEO and SEM content kickoffs and reviews, coordinating between internal teams (client, strategy, project management, and measurement) and media agency. Attend creative kick-offs and provide comprehensive feedback based on knowledge of media plan, targeting, etc. Coordinate UTM and media tagging between internal and external teams. Create tangible optimization recommendations and coordinate with media agency for implementation. Attend internal and external status meetings to maintain pulse on broader portfolio actions.
  • Support | Support Senior Manager, Media across multi-million-dollar annual media planning for Pharma client: Drive strategy behind media plans, offering guidance to media agency to ensure alignment. Provide feedback to media agency during planning process to ensure plan reflects portfolio growth and updates. Present final media plan to internal teams and client. Disseminate appropriate specs and timing implications to internal teams.

 Who you are:  

  • Dedicated | Possessing a curious mindset. A highly motivated individual that is passionate about driving media success across the portfolio. Able to absorb and understand reports and apply media knowledge in order to recommend potential optimizations.
  • Good listener | An individual who can listen to clients, internal teams, and media agency and balance findings to drive actional insights.
  • Detail-oriented | An eye for detail, someone who can see both the big picture and the small picture, highly organized, with strong retention skills. Ability to multi-task across a variety of projects at various stages of development
  • Excellent communicator | Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor your message to a specific audience. Able to clearly communicate project status, required steps, or roadblocks to internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll need:  

  • 5+ years media/advertising experience (Pharma category experience a plus!).
  • Track record of success leading integrated, multi-channel media campaigns with a heavy emphasis on digital tactics
  • Demonstrated ability innovate with clients and advance their “media maturity” and use of data to drive tailored experiences
  • Skilled at communicating technical concepts and media plan details so that non-technical individuals understand
  • Solid understanding the operational aspects of digital media campaigns, particularly targeting and measurement
  • Ability to operate independently as a flexible self-starter, proactively escalating risks when appropriate and delivering proactive recommendations and solutions
  • Quick thinking to handle client interactions with strategic implications in mind and an awareness of project management considerations
  • Technical knowledge of and enthusiasm for digital trends, analytic tools, best practices and data-driven solutions
