Senior Account Manager

This is a full-time role in WPP/Wunderman Thompson within a team of one of our largest Accounts in the IT industry. The team is part of a Corporate program to execute and land global, regional and local communications in a compliant, standardized and effective manner for the several markets in the Gulf region. All this, leveraging global communication programs and sophisticated Modern Marketing engines. The team is comprised of highly skilled Subject Matter Experts on all marketing services / execution / operations and act as the right hand of the field marketers; They are consultants, trusted advisors, and experts on the services they land. Functions range across communications to different audiences (B2B, B2C) and disciplines (event, digital, social, analytics).


What is this role, and how does it positively impact the business?

The Senior Account Manager supports and enables local “last mile” marketing execution through centralized marketing services and provides expertise in marketing tools, engines, and campaigns – including support of Marketing Managers to create and/or refine Marketing Communication plans. They provide end-to-end planning, execution, and analysis services, with tangible positive results for key performance indicators. They also ensure that campaigns are running seamlessly across different systems and tools, so they provide a great experience for our customers and partners.


The Senior Account Manager must deliver across the following seven competency areas:

  1. Enable Integrated and Consistent Marketing Execution from Area HQ to Subsidiaries
  2. Provide Project Management and Extensible Service Coverage
  3. Support a Cross-Engine Approach (Events, Digital, Data, Email and Tele)
  4. Provide Knowledge of Marketing Tools and Services
  5. Be a Consultant and a Trusted Advisor
  6. Privacy and Microsoft Brand and guidelines Gatekeeper
  7. Drive Efficient Localization



  • Proven skills in written and verbal communications; project management; business, systems, and process analysis; conflict resolution; and cross-group collaboration
  • Fluent in English, Arabic and French
  • Advanced project management strategies and tools
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing communications vehicles, tools, and execution, both online and offline
  • Understanding of Operations
  • Ability to articulate and evangelize within the local marketing organization(s)
  • Relationship management skills collaboration and conflict resolution skills

Required Experience:

  • University degree
  • 5-8 years of solid marketing communications, business operations or business consulting experience
  • Agency experience required, B2B experience in a multinational company is a bonus
  • On ground experience in in-person events


Background: The Team

  • The team standardizes Field Marketing Operations and enables ‘local last mile execution’
  • The team roles across Events, Measurement, Data & Insights and Social Media provide specialist Marketing expertise & insights, whilst the Senior AM role provides overall Marcom project management & knowhow.
  • With the increasing transition to Modern Marketing, the Account Manager acts as the ‘local champ’ for Modern Marketing tools & services, providing access to shared services such as the MSC (Marketing Service Center) on Marketing Automation.
  • Training & Coaching time-investment ensure resources are well trained, able to leverage leading practices from across the Globe, and focused on delivering Operational Excellence & Compliance
  • The Account Manager enables Corp to scale & consistently land the Global Engagement Programs of the Marketing Automation Program.
