Sr. Data Analyst - Job Description

The Role of Sr. Data Analyst is a vendor role within Wunderman Thompson team, working as an entire part of the MEA Marketing Analytics Team at Microsoft Middle East and Africa. The Sr. Data Analyst oversee managing customer, campaign and budget data, extracting valuable information and deliver insights (e.g. on customer potential, demand generation, campaign performance and marketing ROI) from it, have a clear understanding and hands on the main tools and driving the data quality / lead management processes, in the directions given by its main stakeholder, the Marketing Analytics Lead.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee maintenance of existing dashboards and reporting.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Work closely with key stakeholders (CMO, BG’s, Corporate teams) to analyze requirements and develop tailored reporting solutions for the business
  • Design and implement medium to large custom application data models.
  • Execute contact data strategy for quality (contactability), acquisition and alignment with legal and privacy teams
  • Managing and delivering data-based projects for reginal area. Serving as a knowledge resource concerning data analytics tools and data structures.
  • Responsible for improving the performance of marketing activities and campaign planning by developing and evangelizing data[1]based solutions and proactively providing marketing insights at regular intervals
  • The technical main role is to provide Microsoft with summarized and current data reports using some data mining in marketing and sales DB using SQL Server with some work on analytics models to be used in making the most appropriate and strategic decisions involving the company.
  • Driving insight at the campaign design to shape data strategies that achieve measurable gains in marketing activities for agency clients.
  • Driving all MSC data communication to MARCOM MSDs. Building and implementing targeting and advanced-analytics models to provide data-driven insights for predicting and optimizing outcomes.
  • Commanding the data quality fixing process, partnering with the DB team to give further insights and consulting services in the daily operation.
  • Monitoring data acquisition and implementing optimization techniques for extremely large databases. Supporting design &implementation of database structures for maximizing the speed and efficiency with which data is retrieved.
  • Employing step-by-step approach for profiling enterprise data, framing the quality rule, validating data, analyzing exceptions, cleansing data and standardization, ongoing monitoring and data quality reporting.
  • Keeping up to date with best practice and capabilities concerning relevant data analytics processes and tools

Education, Skills and Knowledge

  • 7+ years experience working on a variety of Data Analytics projects
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal communications in English. Second language is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating and making decisions
  • Technologically adept and especially demonstrate an understanding of database and computer software.
  • Technical familiarity with the following technology and tools: SQL server, PowerBI / Tableau, Excel is a must. Knowledge in SSRS, SSASAzure, SharePoint are aplus point
  • Ability to design and develop data models for the BI reporting
  • Understanding of Digital analytics dynamics (pixel tagging, tracking, web analytics, measurement lingo) (Measurement Resource only)
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating and making decisions.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Team player – must focus on winning as a team rather than individually
  • Individual contributor able to work effectively across different teams
  • Analytical aptitude and detail oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in Information Technology, Decision Analysis, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or any other related quantitative field.
