Role Summary:  The Wunderman Thompson Performance Marketing team is seeking a Senior Digital Media Strategist.  In this role you will create paths for our clients by evaluating stated goals and objectives and providing performance-based solutions for paid, owned, and earned media.  In this role you will work closely with subject matter experts in search, social, display, remarketing, SEO, UX and analytics but you also must possess a deep understanding and passion for these areas to build winning strategies for our clients. You will be the go-to digital expert for a top client and be responsible for leading our internal team of SMEs.  A proven background in creating complex, data-driven strategies for clients and a passion for trends and innovation are necessary for this role.

 ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Client:

  • Act as the day-to-day strategic lead on assigned accounts. 
  • Partner with a holistic omnichannel team to oversee the translation of our client's objectives and plan a roadmap across all media channels that will achieve client goals while generating work that is creatively brilliant, measurable and has a business impact.
  • Become the expert for the client and a go-to resource for performance marketing strategies across digital tactics.
  • Translates client objectives into high-performing campaigns across paid, owned and earned.
  • Lead client meetings and presentations on strategy. 
  • May participate in new business pitch work and presentation.

Team:

  • Partner with all internal departments to ensure cohesive strategies.
  • Lead and collaborate on the creation of presentation decks. 
  • Review team deliverables and monitor work for connection to strategic plans.
  • Work with analytics team members to assess data trends and analyze performance.
  • Perform advanced research relevant to the client, competition, audiences, and market and help translate into opportunities and actions.  

Process:

  • Interpret client brief, comprehend discovery documentation, and identify gaps.
  • Develop and execute research plans, overseeing work of junior strategists as needed.
  • Create audience segmentation, robust personas, and full customer journeys.
  • Develop strategic briefs including but not limited to marketing briefs, media briefs, creative briefs, and content briefs.
  • Develop and present narratives to key stakeholders.
  • Translate business objectives into KPIs and develop measurement frameworks.
  • Lead client optimization to ensure objectives are being met.
  • Support development of test and learn agendas.
  • Sell in new solutions and find innovative ways to build best practices for the client.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 4 years of digital marketing experience preferably in an agency environment.
  • Experience performing audience research and segmentation exercises, competitive and market assessments, and creating digital roadmaps and strategies for clients that are grounded in insight.
  • Experience developing and delivering Go-To-Market plans, campaign strategies, brand strategies, and/or communications plans
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives and successfully frame strategic recommendations or points of view that are grounded in the objective and tied to the target audience
  • Experience and comfort presenting to executive audiences and responding to feedback in real time
  • Experience using MRI Simmons, ComScore, social listening platforms, Kantar, Pathmatics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, and similar marketing intelligence platforms
  • Ability to simplify complex business challenges into actionable marketing plans.
  • Agency and/or consulting experience is preferred.
