What you’ll be doing:

As a key member of the Payroll and Benefits team within the HR department, this role focuses on providing a professional and first-class administrative service to the business.

This role is responsible for providing comprehensive support within the team to ensure the efficient delivery of total compensation and benefits to over 650 Co-Workers.

  • Maintain and improve the high level of service already provided internally and externally.
  • Managing the benefit schemes to ensure entitlements and obligations are communicated efficiently and comprehensively.
  • Assisting with the accurate and timely payment of salaries to all employees.
  • Responsible for processing starters, leavers, increases and contract variations, tax code changes, student loans, bank detail changes and manual payments.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee benefit plans via phone, email, or face to face.
  • Maintaining Employee Benefits Records
  • Handling Benefits Claims, Enrolments, and Cancellations
  • Provide accurate and timely management information and reports.
  • Data Integrity checks and cleansing as required.
  • Provide a professional first point of contact for co-workers and their line managers to resolve payroll queries.
  • Ensure we are fully compliant with current legislation and company obligations.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Payroll legislation and internal policies
  • Actively contribute to successful completion of projects or improvement plans
  • Prepare month-end cost and variance analysis

Who you are:

  • Experience of having full responsibility for the running of a UK Payroll.
  • Benefits Administration (Private Medical, Income Protection and Life Insurance schemes etc.)
  • Discrete communicator with an eye for detail and ability to deal with people at all levels of seniority.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Detailed knowledge of legislation affecting payment of salaries
  • Ability to carry out manual calculations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Must be self-motivating and comfortable working alone.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative, resolving issues as and when they arise.
  • Exercise confidentiality and management of information at all times.
  • Must be capable of establishing good working relationships internally and externally.

Nice to have but not essential:

  • Professional Payroll Qualification (IPP Foundation in Payroll Administration or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Pension Schemes
  • Knowledge of legislation affecting provision of benefits
  • SDWorx HR Evolution experience
