Who we are looking for:

Wunderman Thompson is looking for a curious and savvy Strategist to join our award-winning strategy team. Reporting to the Strategy Director, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including work for a global financial services challenger brand where you will develop communication strategies primarily for the U.S. market. You’ll also play a key role in helping launch and service a new sustainability brand into the Canadian market and get to work on a variety of other well-known consumer brands. You have experience developing multi-channel communication strategies to help craft engaging B2C and B2B experiences, across emerging and established media. You are both self-motivated but team oriented and love to immerse yourself in research and culture to fuel insights and thinking.  

Occasional travel to NYC may be required.

What you’ll do: 

  • Explore | Drive discovery activities. Mine data to unlock insights. Locate, read, and distill research pieces to brand level thinking, informed points of views, and compelling strategic ideas.
  • Develop | Write and deliver engaging and effective creative briefs that inspire creative teams and develop plans that produce meaningful impact to the clients’ brands.
  • Communicate | Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide strategic rationale for opportunities across different channels. Present strategic deliverables to client and participate in client communications throughout lifecycle of projects.
  • Client | Nurture client relationships. Understand the dynamics of their brand and the category in which it operates. Provide sound strategic counsel.
  • Inspire | Stay on top of industry and consumer trends to be a catalyst within the agency for finding new and fresh ways to reach and interact with audiences in effective ways, across existing and new channels and platforms. Partner with and inspire creative teams; fuel them with relevant information and ideas.

Who you are:

  • Curious | You are motivated to understand what makes people tick and how that influences the way they engage with content today.
  • Agnostic | You can effortlessly work across multiple channels and develop strong ideas that deliver against audience needs.
  • Agile | A get-things-done attitude. You dig in and figure out how to work around problems. You collaborate and work well as part of different teams but are equally able to drive your own deliverables.

What you’ll need: 

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant strategy experience in a creative/digital agency.
  • Both B2C and B2B strategy experience preferred.
  • Experience crafting and presenting compelling points of view to support recommendations to clients and partners.
  • Experience developing strong relationships across agency teams and with clients.
  • Self-starter who is capable of searching for insights across multiple sources.
  • Possess an intellectual curiosity and seek to understand the “why”.
  • Financial services and/or sustainability/not-for-profit industry experience an asset.
