Who we are looking for:
Wunderman Thompson is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to support the day-to-day functioning of finance for the California business. This position plays a key role on our local and regional finance team and sits within our local operations team.
***An important note on location and REMOTE options: The intention for this role is embracing a hybrid work model that combines working remotely from home and working on-site in our Costa Mesa or Playa Vista office. This approach allows us to offer the flexibility of remote work on some days, while also offering the opportunity for in-person collaboration. Viable candidates will be local to the Orange County/Los Angeles area and aligned with a hybrid work schedule.
What you’ll do:
- Process | Prepare monthly account reconciliations, assist with client billing and project maintenance needs, and run reports as needed. Assist in financial month-end close:, create journals, and input numbers into available reporting tools. Prepare rollover revenue forecasts, create financial reports and dashboards, help streamlining business, manage projects finance, prepare client billing, inter-company contracts, and manage inter-company transactions.
- People | Work with local project management contacts and regional Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams to create monthly client billing requests, review and approve invoices, and act as a liaison between the CA finance team and shared services teams (Accounting/AP/AR).
- Work | Manage inter-company transactions: Internal Work Order/PO maintenance and record-keeping, reviewing and inputting inter-company time and inter-company reconciliations. Ad hoc requests from the Finance Director, Manager, or other business contacts are common.

What you’ll need:
- 3+ years of finance or accounting experience, or relevant internship equivalent. Advertising industry experience or interest is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; although the role has a client-finance focus, you should be able to investigate accounting issues, prepare accrual entries, accounting adjustments, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel dealing with large data sets, nested formulas, and ability to design and automate dashboards. Knowledge of queries and macros is a plus.
- Experience with Enterprise Financial Systems is a plus (Oracle BFC, NetSuite Workday, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills reaching all levels of employees across various disciplines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment and experience managing deadlines
- Highly driven to excel and have a growth mindset.
- Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and work in a deadline driven environment.
