Who we are looking for:
Wunderman Thompson is seeking a strategic-minded, creatively motivated and nimble Account Director to lead the day-to-day management for an iconic global CPG brand. These clients are committed to delivering trusted, innovative and purpose driven work. It’s an exciting opportunity to champion communications across an integrated agency team in true partnership with hungry, creatively ambitious clients.
As an Account Director you will be the day-to-day lead for this business, and responsible for ensuring the agency is fully prepared to meet all the client’s marketing and communication needs. You’ll have a pulse on the client work and the team, continuously strategizing ways to elevate the deliverables. You’ll be eager to bring people together while nurturing your team and play a key role in identifying new ways to expand the brand platform. This is a hands-on role with no task too big or too small.
What you’ll do:
- Client | Be a true partner: understand the client, their business, their category, and their competition. Help guide them efficiently and effectively. Be indispensable by reliably answering every request, and proactively over-delivering added value wherever possible.
- Team | Manage, inspire, and motivate cohesive team across departments, disciplines, and offices. Mentor and grow direct reports to be stronger strategically, creatively, tactically, and interpersonally.
- Process | Lead and flawlessly execute agency projects from earliest concept stage to finish. Partner with planning team to analyze existing business and consumer data and translate into impactful messaging and new opportunities. Nurture the relationship between the client and the agency by listening to the clients and developing trust and respect.
Who you are:
- A builder | Entrepreneurial attitude coupled with a strong business acumen. Ability and appetite to bring people together. Innate ability to marshal people and create gravity around ideas. A self-starter.
- Open and collaborative | You must be a champion of team environments that are comfortable and encouraging, especially when working across disciplines.
- An experimenter | Embrace the unknown and be ready to break process. You’ll be excited by opportunities to explore new ideas rather than rely on existing paradigms, and you view technology as a tool that can drive this creativity.
- Optimistic and resilient | Dig in and figure out how to work around problems. Takes care of self and team.
- Ego-less | We all wear the hats that need wearing, it’s a mentality that makes the team successful.
What you’ll need:
- A minimum of 8 years of account management experience at a creative agency or equivalent, ideally with CPG experience. Global experience is preferred.
- Extensive experience with multi-faceted campaigns, including all forms of asset development and production - TV, Print, OOH, Digital, Social.
- Proven track record of developing strong client relationships. Ability to lead and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Innate curiosity about the world at large and shifts in the cultural landscape.
- An eagerness to think differently about problems and rolling up your sleeves to help figure them out.
- Ability to recognize a great idea and empower the creative teams to push the boundaries on the work we make, while providing the business context needed for the work to be successful.
- The ability to think on your feet and an eagerness to think outside the box.
- Skilled in presentation planning and development with the ability to present ideas, concepts, and strategic direction to senior level clients.
- A resiliently positive attitude. This is critical to foster a highly collaborative environment.
