Who we’re looking for 

Wunderman Thompson Lisbon is seeking a Senior Strategist to join our International Markets group, working with the global UNICEF core team and other global brands.

You have strong experience in developing Brand Strategies for Global Brands. You need to be known for great storytelling and insight generation, and be passionate about delivering great work. You are skilled and a highly proficient expert in developing insight-driven campaigns. You’re someone who can synthesize and translate abstract and complex concepts and content into simple, innovative solutions that frame clear opportunities to build strong omnichannel customer experiences. You enjoy pushing a vision and bringing it to life, getting your mind and hands in the details. You’re an empathetic champion of the customer, with an insatiable curiosity for their motivations and needs, fluent in the end-to-end customer journey. You flourish when thinking about the role of strategy in delivering world-class, omnichannel experiences across the customer journey lifecycle that drives your clients’ business. You have an ability to look at a situation, deconstruct it, and devise a way to make it better. You’re a restless futurist, inspired by brand and business innovation and emerging technologies, while remaining keenly focused on solving the needs of today’s brands.  

The role is based in the Lisbon office, and while some remote working is possible, we have learned that in person collaboration is strongly correlated with successful outcomes. So, being based in our beautiful office for a good amount of time is required. Plus, you will have the best Lisbon views.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop the strategy & brand vision internally and externally. 
  • Develop clear and inspiring creative briefs and an extensive point of view for current clients and new business.
  • Work with the Strategy Director in brief development and new business pitches.
  • Partner with Creatives to concept, explore and push the work.
  • Can design for effectiveness and implement measurement strategies.
  • Writing proposals in collaboration with client and project management teams and other specialisms.
  • Collaborate across disciplines and hierarchies.
  • Managing projects to tight timelines.

What you’ll need

  • Minimum 7 years of experience developing strategies for global brands in a progressive, creatively driven agency environment.
  • Creating and delivering brand and integrated advertising campaigns strategies is key to the role (including traditional media, digital media, social media). Strong Knowledge of the modern digital ecosystem across paid, owned and earned channels.
  • B2B and/or experience working with non-profits/NGOs is a plus.
  • Native English language ability is a must-have.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, analysis, proposal writing and presentation skills.
  • Able to fly at multiple altitudes, excelling at high-level experience strategy work and the nitty-gritty of strategic implementation. 
  • Track record of working in collaborative, fast-paced environments, while navigating the demands to structure and process.
  • Experience with pitches
