Who we are looking for:  

The Group Creative Director, UX, will play a key leadership role in our office by leading client(s) and teams to deliver digital solutions and opportunities that drive performance and resonate with target audiences for our clients. This role also acts as the creative lead on the account by setting the north star for creative vision as it relates to creating a world-class user experience across multiple digital properties.  We are specifically looking for an experienced creative leader who has a digital product development / marketing background and is an expert in leading teams through digital product roadmaps while elevating the customer experience and brand desire at every opportunity.   

The role reports to the Executive Creative Director for the Wunderman Thompson California office. It is accountable for leading an ever-evolving product roadmap designed at significantly impacting our client’s business and growing a team of leads who will continue to expand our business.  

What you’ll do: 

  • Lead | Play a critical role as part of the account leadership team, taking responsibility for the entirety of our creative and UX workgroup. Provide coaching, mentorship to creative team members and management of junior to senior team members. Build and nurture a team of multidisciplinary creatives (UX, design, copy, technologists). 

  • Collaborate | Responsible for developing and organizing best-practices and processes for your team, as well as partnering with other leads within the Creative department for alignment and learnings across Wunderman Thompson California. Play a key role in building trusted relationships with clients and collaborate closely with Strategy, Data, Technology, Analytics, Product, Project and Account leads and teams to ensure effective translation from strategy into final work. 

  • Client | Be the most senior face of creative to our highest-ranking clients. In partnership with strategy and technology leaders, proactively bring creative and strategic recommendations to clients and regularly inform the digital product roadmap. 

  • Create | Create thoughtful and expressive POVs (in from of decks, interactive presentations, etc.) to focus and inspire our creative teams and clients. Responsible for demonstrating an understanding of consumer behaviors within digital experience including web, AR, VR, social, CRM and media. Showcase an understanding of emerging platforms and technologies and high-impact customer experiences.

What you’ll need: 

  • Minimum 10 years of strategy experience at advertising, digital and/ or creative agencies or consultancy. 

  • Demonstrated success creating digital products vision, strategy, experience, and enterprise solutions and services - from ideation to launch, including engineering and operational quality. 

  • Must have experience working on digital products (websites, ecommerce, SaaS, apps).. 

  • Proven track record of working with senior client stakeholder and diverse teams as a servant leader and steward of economic and customer value. 

  • Comfortable with working with cross functional teams. 

  • Expert presentation skills to senior leadership and the most senior level of clients and can tell an inspiring, compelling story. 

  • A clear point of view and confidence in it, while having the openness and interest to listen to clients and teammate's perspectives. 

  • Ability to be “hands on” when needed especially as it relates to problem solving and generation of business solution options. 

  • Experience and ability to mentor and inspire younger talent. 

  • Working knowledge of various marketing technologies – full marketing tech stack.  

  • Automotive experience is desired.  

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
