Who we are looking for:
Wunderman Thompson is looking for a Strategy Director to lead the brand and communication strategies for a global automotive client. Reporting to the EVP, Business Lead, you will play a senior role on the team developing brand strategies that deliver short and long-term growth. You will also have the opportunity to work on new business and other established global brands.
What you’ll do:
- Lead | Work with senior clients to simplify complex business and brand challenges into compelling strategies. Tutor and motivate the junior team to bring out the best in them and develop their brand and business thinking.
- Facilitate | Design workshops designed to drive simplicity, greater creativity and innovation.
- Inspire | Collaborate with the creative, data and account management teams to inspire ambitious thinking throughout the process.
- Client | Work towards establishing a trusted advisor relationship with senior clients.
- Influence | Use your experience and knowledge of industry trends and perspectives to inspire and motivate the team.
Who you are:
- Consultant | We help our client’s business grow, leveraging all channels at our disposal. You are keen on understanding our client’s opportunities (and risks) and dealing with them in a manner that leads to a positive outcome. You seek to understand the customer – their motivations, preferences and journey.
- Researcher | Strong command of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and working knowledge of when and how to apply them to a given client challenge. Articulate insights in a logical flow in order to deliver a compelling and enlightening story to client.
- A Builder | Entrepreneurial attitude coupled with a strong business acumen. Ability and appetite to bring people together. Innate ability to marshal people and create gravity around ideas.
- Hybrid | A leader and a doer – you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves in an ego-free environment. We all wear the heads that need wearing. Agile thinker who is proficient at moving between diverse projects.
- Analytical | Manage and work closely with the analytics teams to ensure that measurement frameworks, test/learn agendas are in place and that campaign reporting informs optimization.
What you’ll need:
- 8+ years of relevant work experience; creative/digital/media agency experience an asset.
- Curiosity and passion for brands and the craft of building them.
- Experience working with both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and a working knowledge of how to apply them to a given client challenge.
- Experience crafting and presenting compelling points of view to support recommendations to clients and partners.
- Ability to develop strong relationships across agency teams and with clients.
