ABOUT THE ROLE:
Village Marketing is seeking a meticulous, collaborative, and process-oriented Controller. Reporting into the CFO, this position oversees the Company’s accounting functions, reporting and forecasting obligations, and oversees SOX controls design and implementation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Collaborate | Meet with internal account leads and participate in the leadership team to facilitate day-to-day client management, client forecasting, and determine financial impact and design of company operations and processes.

Understand the work | Prepare monthly revenue calculation and maintain all backup for audit purposes, maintain revenue and opex forecast files, assist in implementing audit compliance processes, provide oversight and review of client billings and project costs in addition to project reconciliations.

Trust in the Process | Oversee accounting processes and month-end close to uphold accurate accounting practices and reporting in compliance with SOX.

People | Partner closely with cross-functional teams including finance, accounting, HR, etc. as needed to resolve accounting and finance matters.
- Reconcile and Audit | Analyze and reconcile revenue, billable expenses, OPEX, and balance sheet accounts. Determine completeness and accuracy of balances, ensure the integrity and security of financial systems and business processes to maintain legal and regulatory compliance (full scope SOX compliance).

Forecaster | Ability to reflect on historical results and utilize inputs from Account Directors and the Corporate Finance department, to update and refine forecasts.

Tech Oriented | Ability to learn and become an expert across Company systems used for operations and reporting, including Quickbooks Online, Bill.com, Google Sheets/Excel, and SAP reporting.

Solution Oriented | Digs in and simplifies how to work around problems, asking "why not?" and "how can we make this better?".

Strong Communicator | Must be able to speak with all levels of employees, across various disciplines.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

3-5 years of finance/accounting experience.

Must have solid understanding and working knowledge of accounting practices and principles
-
Possess advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheet skills, with the ability to manipulate and digest mass amounts of data required.

Ability to see the big picture and assess the financial and operational impact of transactions and processes.

Knowledgeable of financial and operational controls as guided by SOX.

Previous experience with QBO or other ERP software, preferred. Experience with bill.com or similar payment processor, highly preferred.

Strong work ethic and drive to progress professionally.
