Who we are looking for:
Wunderman Thompson is seeking an Associate Director, Strategy to play a critical role on an Automotive brand account. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage consumer and industry insights in the development of strategies that motivate consumers to engage with brand and product content in digital experiences. This is an opportunity to build and shape the brand and partner with creative teams to build meaningful experiences.
You enjoy working with cross-functional teams, senior teams, and client stakeholders to bring campaigns and content to life. You are passionate about creating website experiences that equip and excite consumers by elevating brands and products. You are skilled and a highly proficient expert in user-centered strategy and insight-driven design. You are comfortable with a wide array of marketing concepts, channels, and executions. You have an innate curiosity and drive to find compelling opportunities to engage consumers and are constantly searching for new ways of constructing effective and inspiring strategies and creative.
What you’ll do:
· Support Product Enhancements | Help shape the development, execution, and implementation of new features and functionality across channels, new product launches, and campaigns. You have experience and curiosity towards e-commerce, Electrification, and storytelling.
· Uncover Insights | Provide analysis, audits, and artifacts to help devise world-class insights that contribute to thoughtful and potentially disruptive strategies. Constantly separate signals from noise in a large quantity of information and rapidly distill it into easy-to-understand bits for key stakeholders and creators. Share perspectives and recommendations clearly and persuasively (both orally and in written form), demonstrating a strong storytelling capability. Stay abreast of new and emerging platform and experience trends, both in and outside the automotive sector.
· Collaborate | You’ll serve as a subject-matter expert in all things experience strategy and help lead both clients and peers alike to help think about opportunities that solve business challenges, while meeting brand and customer needs. You’ll work closely–and help build and define pitch or presentation decks–with a multi-disciplinary group of Content Strategists, Brand Strategists, Designers, Project Managers, Account Teams, and Technologists, demonstrating and
inspiring by showing your knowledge of your craft. We work in an agile way utilizing the SAFe framework.
· Client | Partner with Account Leadership to oversee the translation of our clients’ vision into strategies that will achieve client goals, while generating work that is creatively brilliant, measurable and has impact. You’ll be the strategy lead for all day-to-day client communications and presentations across multiple teams. Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and manage realistic timelines and project plans. Lead Junior Strategist in both collaborative and individual tasks – providing clear definition, expectation, feedback and mentoring.
· Thought Leadership | Using your experience and knowledge to inspire and motivate the team. Continuous process improvements and sharing of best practices. Understanding of digital execution excellence and MarTech/AdTech including, automation, personalization, dynamic creative, CRM, CMS, and DAM capabilities.
· Data Obsessed | Work with the Analytics team to conduct and interpret advance analytics to support decision making on content strategies and effectiveness and to optimize over time. Including KPIs, reporting, analytics maturity models.

What you’ll need:
· Minimum of 5-8 years of marketing strategy experience within an ad agency environment
· Experience working with clients in Automotive, Technology or other tech-adjacent industries required.
· Experience translating technical, challenging concepts to simple briefs and consumer-facing strategies.
· Experience with marketing for Fortune 500 brands is required.
· Proven track record of success across product marketing, content strategy, and developing digital experiences.
· Experience partnering closely with cross-functional Creative, User Experience, Account, and Analytics teams.
· Experience in nuanced, multi-agency marketing teams and excel at collaborating with partners.
· Comfortable running a strategy project through client intake, research, strategy development, creative collaboration, executional briefs, and crafting a performance story from analytics and data.
