Who we are looking for:
Wunderman Thompson is seeking a Director, Analytics Strategy who is intimately familiar with turning data into meaningful insights and recommendations for empowering clients and platforms. The Director, Analytics Strategy considers themselves a passionately curious analytically focused professional who thrives in fast-paced matrix environments, and the collaborative energy of the teams you work with. Your strengths lie in challenging organizations to think differently and helping clients’ brands achieve their goals through uncovering trends and insights and finding the most efficient ways to impact their audiences through collaborative strategy development.
As Director, Analytics Strategy you will manage an analytics team, working collaboratively with other technology, strategy, and creative teams. You are an analytics practitioner, a strong individual contributor, who will work collaboratively with a cross functional agency team and executives within the company.
There is a strong preference for this role to be based in the Los Angeles, CA area, but will consider a remote arrangement for the right individual.
What you’ll do:
- Lead | Guide the overall analytics strategy and work delivery through an understanding of and experience with client’s business. With a thorough understanding of attribution, measurement tools, enabling martech and the underlying data models, you will drive business transformation and impact throughout the “marketing funnel.”
- Perform | Work on a daily basis with qualitative and quantitative data across analytics platforms to explore complex data sets and make recommendations for marketing strategies and experience/site design changes.
- Identify | Identify and develop data collection strategies to support standard and ad-hoc analytics and reporting on key performance indicators that directly measure campaigns, website, and conversion funnel performance.
- Deliver | Data strategy, testing and optimization, insight generation, full journey, cross-channel storytelling.

What you’ll need:
- Must have minimum of eight (8) years of experience with increasing responsibilities in digital analytics technologies and working with data visualization technologies and data schema to report and drive insights, preparing, producing, and deriving insight from analytics reports, tag management and implementation methodologies across digital touchpoints and in an ecommerce setting.
- Comfortable engaging with clients across a range of seniority and roles. Skilled at storytelling tailored to the client’s business and seniority.
- Practice development: ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team for scalability and growth; Create and own the roadmap for future investments and work with industry leaders to provide thought leadership
- Cross department partnership to complement broader agency initiatives and to utilize integrations of best-in-class technology solutions
- Manage relationships with agency partners and vendors, bringing forth new and upcoming capabilities to existing client engagements
- Primary contact to present and sell in strategic initiatives for marketing analytics with a focus on ROI
- Leading and developing marketing performance measurement using digital analytics tools, including Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics.
- Leads the design and development of dashboards and scorecards, including KPI and reporting frame refinement to evaluate and increase return on Investment of marketing campaigns.
- Familiar with Consumer Data Platforms (CDP) such as Treasure Data, Adobe Experience Platform, and Tealium AudienceStream.
- Familiar with A/B Testing Platforms such as Adobe Target, Salesforce Interaction Studio, Optimizely and Google Optimize.
- Capable of leading Testing and Optimization programs.
- Expert at analyzing and reporting interactive consumer metrics and translating information into actionable recommendations to evaluate and increase return on Investment of marketing campaigns.
- Implementing analytics tags and media pixels to collect reliable data and support business insights, using tag management solutions (Adobe Launch/DTM and Tealium), JavaScript associated with digital analytics platforms, HTML, and CSS languages.
