Who we are looking for:
The DataOps Account Director is responsible for managing one or several of the overall client work streams with a focus on the strategic direction as well as overseeing the work stream related projects to ensure the DataOps work stream team delivers on time, within budgets and at a consistent high quality and service level.
In this role you will lead a team that helps the client define, capture, format, manage, and leverage their data assets. This role will demonstrate leadership experience in data governance, DataOps, and/or data management.
You are expected to demonstrate leadership, accountability, and strategic and commercial thinking. It’s crucial that you can effectively leverage your experience, knowledge, and skills to motivate and drive the team forward in meeting client objectives, whilst also balancing Wunderman Thompson’s strategic direction and the team’s needs. You act as the mentor for the full team, ensuring strong team unity and ways of working, optimizing talent utilization and growth among all team members. Being a “people person”, team player, and great at building relationships with internal as well as external stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment is pre-requisite to succeed in this role.
Lastly, you must ensure that tools, systems and ways of working are efficient and effective and always be on the lookout for the next ideas, process optimizations, trends or automations that can increase our efficiency.
What will your day look like?
In the role as Account Director, you will be responsible for organizing and co-managing one of our large international clients. In the day-to-day business, you will be expected to lead part of the team and manage the client roadmap, so strong people skills and a strategic mindset is a must. Furthermore, you will play a central role throughout the entire project lifecycle, where you will make use of your strategic thinking and management skills as well as tackle more hands-on tasks. A solid technical understanding and a strong passion for digital solutions is essential, as you will work closely with our developers and the client's development/technical stakeholders. More specifically, your responsibilities include:
- Manage all aspects of the client business providing superior customer service whilst helping them maximize their business opportunities
- Meeting both client KPI’s as well as Wunderman Thompson business KPI’s and support the client in the development of their roadmaps
- Support the Client Service Lead in managing all strategic planning activities, continuously looking for ways to optimize ways of working
- Establish and grow a strong relationship with the client stakeholders and act as their escalation point and go to person if challenges occur that needs solving either at team or project level
- Keeping the client up to date on the roadmap and project progress and spend, as well as manage their expectations
- Aligning with the rest of the account service team and the other workstreams, should there be dependencies or input needed from them for your projects
- Foster change through collaboration with data owners and data stewards across the client to ensure all users are following the data governance operating model including principles, policies, and data management processes
- Cross-reference scope and requirements across multiple requests to ensure that solutions are additive and non-redundant
- Utilize deep knowledge of data needs / requirements and continually expand business understanding as you work to determine effective solutions to ensure best data practices
- Proactively reduce rate of data errors using standardized workflows that include responsibilities not only within the Client Data team but also responsibilities and accountabilities by any partner teams across the organizations. Providing day to day support for any data queries for campaigns / programs
- Proactively suggesting ways of optimizing audiences and leading all efficiency programs ensuring we are always working as lean as possible throughout the workstreams in how we utilize data
- Lead GCP migrations and integration projects
- Proactively keep abreast of industry trends and share knowledge with team
- Lead the preparation and conduction of the recurring internal and external meetings
- Contribute to the monthly finance report with client in close collaboration with the finance team
- Team Management including overseeing team members team’s performance ensuring they deliver the level of quality and service the client expects
- Ensure work is delegated appropriately for their level and experience and that the team remains challenged and engaged
- Involvement in recruitment and retention of team members as well as succession planning and resource forecasting
- Acts as a positive role model through example

You are an easy-going person with a proactive and positive mindset. You work to deliver the best possible outcome despite any challenges that arise. As you will be managing several projects simultaneously, you are an organized person who can keep perspective while showing great attention to details. In addition, you have:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a CRM account director or similar.
- Extensive knowledge of what working with data, technical projects, and marketing automation platforms entails.
- Deep understanding of CRM technology - particularly Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Adobe Marketing Cloud.
- Experience with strategic management and implementation of IT projects within CRM, web, and/or marketing automation.
- Experience with project management and hence the ability to lead and support project managers on your team.
- Experience balancing time across multiple team members and the ability to keep calm and composed in times of stressful situations.
- The competence, confidence, and self-discipline to manage deadlines, estimates, and budgets excellently.
- Great communication and presentation skills in English. It is vital for this role, that you can communicate complex topics in a clear and understandable manner.
