The role:

Can you see yourself creating original copy for some of the most ambitious brands in the world? Do you instinctively know how to take the shortest path to the point in your writing? Are you a hungry, ambitious communicator with CRM experience and a voracious love of the written word? If so, you may be the Copywriter or Senior Copywriter we’re seeking!

NOTE: We are seeking talent local to Austin, TX and are open to considering paid relocation to Austin for qualified candidates in the U.S. who would bring solid CRM experience.

What will your day look like?

We’re looking for someone with top-notch writing skills to join us full-time as a Copywriter or Senior Copywriter in our first ever location in North America. As our new team member, you will write communications for multiple global clients, gaining a thorough insight into their businesses. Your primary job will be to create compelling copy for Loyalty, CRM, and other comms channels.

You will:

  • Write original copy for emails, push notifications, and paid media, including eye-catching subject lines and pre-headers.
  • Brainstorm communication and copy ideas with the team.
  • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback.
  • Edit new business & pitch decks from our Consultancy and Growth teams.
  • Play an active role in projects, from initial idea generation to execution and approval – closely liaising with CRM comms/content strategists on assignments.
  • Study insights or reports to give your copy a strong conceptual foundation.
  • Research topics as needed to develop a deep understanding of our client's business.
  • Lean on brand playbooks and tone of voice guides to create copy aligned with clients’ brand values.

Who will you work with?

As a member of the Experience Communications & Design team, our Copywriter/Senior Copywriter will write and edit content for a variety of CRM-focused projects (e.g., email programs with dynamic and static copy) working closely with communication strategists, CX/UX designers, data scientists, tech developers and project managers to brainstorm ideas and articulate messaging.

You will interact with interesting and kind colleagues in a setting that prioritizes collaboration and camaraderie. We come from diverse backgrounds and have unique skill-sets, so you’ll get plenty of opportunities to apply your expertise.

An important part of being an employee in Wunderman Thompson MAP is also to be a culture bearer and someone who enjoys being surrounded by amazing colleagues. While we do have flexibility as needed to allow for working from home, we are building a team that can work on-site (in either Austin, TX or Toronto, Canada) most of your time. This is particularly of value to us in the first 3-6 months of your employment, as we will be flying in team members from MAP in Copenhagen to help establish our first presence in the U.S./North America. This means you will be a vital piece of our new office!

What do you bring to the table?

You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times. Your conscientious and solution-oriented mindset enables you to digest complex information and translate strategy and insights into persuasive copy. You value flawlessness and careful editing, ensuring all deliveries are spotless and effective.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of copywriting experience from an advertising or in-house agency
  • Experience with personalization and automation as it pertains to CRM / loyalty marketing
  • Excellent communication skills and flawless writing talent
  • A relevant background in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline
  • Ability to work independently or with a team to meet deadlines

What to expect of the recruitment process?

You will meet different people from the Experience Design & Communications teams throughout the interview process. Before the second round, we ask candidates to complete a short writing assignment, done at home at your convenience.
