What we are looking for
As a Planning Director at WT, it is your job to understand what it takes to help a client’s business succeed. We do this through a superior understanding of the business, the brand, the audience and the cultural context, all combined.
In your role on this client you will work with a combination of marketing clients, data experts, creatives, experience designers and management consultants from across the integrated agency. We’ll expect you to be brilliant at the following:
- You apply imagination, and raise the bar of creative work through simple disruptive planning, breadth and opportunities for integration in the work.
- You partner with a Business Lead and Creative Director to ensure client buy-in, helping to protect the integrity of the work at all times. You make the case for new and different creativity.
- Alongside your Creative Director you own the creative development process; teams actively seek your strategic judgement and direction. Your fingerprints are all over the work.
- You are able to adapt your style to get the best out of the people you work with. You can comfortably persuade clients to buy the best creative work. You are seen as an active disrupter of convention.
- You are actively involved in managing careers, creating, driving and participating in the wider agency culture, business agenda and the external profile of WT.
- Your energy is channelled towards ideas that continuously improve the creative work. You put the team first, not your ego.
- Your point of view is valued within the agency and the industry. You have a clear point of view on how creativity can be used to solve business problems.
- You can prove the difference the work is making, commercially or behaviourally, beyond doubt and can make recommendations on how the work should be measured.
- You add to the agency’s profile within the industry, and you contribute to ensuring that our credibility is recognized beyond outside of our industry, actively seeking opportunities to create buzz.
- You have extensive knowledge of the commercial drivers of your Client business, and work in partnership with senior stakeholders to deliver commercially-led, disruptive marketing strategies. You regularly identify areas of brand and commercial growth above and beyond BAU.
- You lead the performance agenda with the client, ensuring that there is sufficient data and reporting structures in place in order to put commercial performance at the heart of every project.
- You partner with a BL to run large accounts or chunky projects/pitches, building good relationships with senior clients and their teams. Beyond brand strategy, you are fundamental to creating the client and relationship strategy as well.
What you’ll be doing
- You will go beyond the surface and uncover what is problem we need to tackle to drive the most effective outcomes
- You will drive the strategy for personal banking globally.
- You will understand in depth the different audience tiers of the bank, uncover interesting insights and define how the brand can connect with people throughout the customer journey.
- You will consolidate the strategic thinking with clients and roll it out working closely with counterparts in different markets to guide and inspire them to adopt and implement it.
- You will inspire the teams and excite the clients through tight creative briefs, delivering on the objectives through innovative ideas across the line.
- You will guide more junior planners on the team to support you and manage their workflow and output.
