Who we're looking for:
We are looking for a regional Finance Manager to join our EMEA team. You will support the Regional Financial Controller and the regional management for Wunderman Thompson EMEA. You will work with the finance teams across EMEA, helping to develop and maintain a first-class finance function that can deliver accurate and timely finance and management information. The main objectives are to ensure timely and correct group financial reporting, insightful analysis, timely and relevant management information and provide training to local markets in group reporting, management accounting and SOX compliance.
What you'll be doing:
- Direct oversight of the group reporting of key EMEA markets
- Ensure integrity of financial reporting and in accordance with WPP policies and IFRS. Reviewing all cycles in the WPP financial reporting calendar including, but not limited to, monthly actuals, forecasts, budgets, client profitability and corporate responsibility.
- Build in-depth knowledge of the markets including business issues and perform risk-based financial analysis.
- Develop strong relationships with markets and be a reliable trusted partner.
- Liaise with the global finance team on technical queries and reporting matters.
- Play key role in training markets in group reporting as well as accounting standards.
- Supervise specific areas of the EMEA reporting and compliance process (around 50 offices). Become an expert and be the ‘go to person’ for these activities.
- Participate in the integration of new companies.
- Produce management reports and presentations.
- Support markets with their SOX compliance and ensure compliance at a regional level for your allocated markets.
- Perform a number of SOX and special audits of Opco’s.
What you'll need:
- Qualified ACA / CIMA / ACCA, 5 years+ post-qualification experience
- Strong technical accounting experience in IFRS, management accounting and analytical review.
- Strong on system & processes review.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in compliance auditing / SOX.
- Use of a consolidation tool such as SAP BFC.
- Proven ability to form strong relationships with colleagues.
- Proven ability to learn quickly.
- Experience and willingness to line manage.
- These will be an advantage:
- International experience and other European language(s)
- Audit background
- Marketing communications industry experience in a senior finance role
