Who we are looking for:
Wunderman Thompson is seeking an AWS Data Engineer who be tasked with implementing, maintaining and populating analytics databases. This person will work with data pipelines, tune databases for efficient analysis and create table schemas using extract, transform, load (ETL) methods.
What you’ll do:
- Provide technical advice and weighs in on technical decisions that impact cross functional teams
- Owns the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary
- Develops and defines application scope and objectives and prepares technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written
- Performs technical design reviews and code reviews
- Performs technical testing to ensure unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed and system is implemented according to plan
- Assesses current status and supports data information planning
- Maintains technical development environment
- Will begin to set direction at the project/service level and influences decision-making
- Provides technical guidance, and mentoring. Understands the tradeoffs between technical, analytical and product needs of the technical solutions
- Identifies and propose strategies around technical problems affecting team, communicates standards and gets buy-in on solutions
- Facilitates group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues
- Supports vendor evaluation
What you'll need:
- Advance level of English
- Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 5 years related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience;
- Experience designing, building, deploying, testing, maintaining, monitoring, and owning scalable, resilient, and distributed data pipelines
- Experience with AWS; GCP and Azure cloud platforms
- Extensive experience in data analysis using SQL and Python in traditional and cloud-based data warehouse environment
- Excellent knowledge of AWS architecture
- Experience in creating, adjusting, and maintaining ETL data pipelines AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Data Prep, etc. (including custom SQL, Python, PySpark)
- Ability to create and connect to different kind of APIs
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot logs
