Who we are looking for:
Wunderman Thompson is seeking a Technical Project Manager for our Costa Rica office. We are looking for enthusiastic critical thinkers and problem solvers that thrive on being engaged at all levels of the project. The Mid Project Manager acutely understands the opportunities and constraints of a given project and takes responsibility for setting and managing expectations internally and with clients. They understand how to manage and negotiate trade-offs to deliver on time, within budget and against agreed objectives. The technical project Manager have full lifecycle experience from scoping through delivery and can confidently navigate and prioritize business needs, resource management, schedules, and financials to successfully deliver all aspects of the assignment.
What you’ll do:
You will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and growing Software Engineers, and building highly effective Software Engineering teams across products within an Agile environment. Your primary goal will be to drive your team to turn a concept into reality and ensure consistent on-time delivery of high-quality, scalable, and innovative software.
· Work | Deliver work that is excellent, on time, on budget, and goes beyond the brief. Oversee the entire delivery and execution of projects. Identify dependencies and the cascading impacts of delays. Lead resource needs and availability across the office and network, working closely with department leads and recruiting.
· People | Motivate, direct and challenge teams to produce great work. Establish and manage cross-functional teams across different locations that are collaborative, efficient and high-functioning. Increase efficiency across a group of accounts through effective management of staff resourcing. Oversee staff aggregate bandwidth, utilization, and realization rates, as well as retention and employee relations.
· Process | Establish and manage project/program communication and process. Leverage existing tools and processes to monitor people and progress.
· Collaborate | with Project and Program needs to ensure the right resources are in place to deliver the work.
· Financials | Responsible for project estimation, planning and profitability. Build detailed project plans. Collaborate with Delivery leads for resourcing and scoping strategy across portfolio, partnering with finance and account teams. Partner with the Director of Project Management for resourcing strategy across the portfolio, and support Project Managers in resourcing to the scope.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead our teams of Software Engineers to build and deliver quality products on time
• Champion quality through test coverage and a balance of best practices and delivery
• Own the Agile process that consistently delivers a quality product to customers
• Rally your team to make and keep commitments to customers, the business, and themselves
• Partner up with your team’s Product Manager in planning and defining acceptance criteria and testing strategies
• Facilitate communication upward and across project teams including project status, justifications for variances, and technical information • Identify dependencies, define mitigations, and manage risks
• Ensure projects are completed according to product specifications and are properly documented
• Mentor, coach, and assist team members to be productive and efficient contributors
• Meet with your team to ensure their path for success is clear and we’re instilling and exhibiting the right behaviors to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery
What you'll need:
• Degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field preferred
• 7-10 years of experience in software development with at least 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams in an Agile environment
• Experience with Javascript Frameworks, specifically React and Node.js
• Advanced knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, metrics, quality and testing procedures, process creation and enablement
• Experience with building, maintaining, and scaling cloud-based applications
• Established track record of being the go-to person for your teams and ensuring your teams always have what they need to be successful
• Experience optimizing software delivery through the use of metrics to ensure your team is always running efficiently and constantly striving to improve
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with various stakeholders throughout the organization (advanced English level)
• Ability to adjust and adapt to changing situations and achieve buy-in from your teams
