Who we are looking for:
Wunderman Thompson is seeking a B2B Creative Director, Copywriter to oversee a distributed creative team, partnering with a Creative Director, Art Director, and take ownership of all creative output for one of our key clients. As Creative Director, you have a proven track record of overseeing and creating meaningful content and messaging that help B2B brands connect with other brands through engaging marketing across a broad spectrum of platforms.
The Creative Director needs to have experience as a trusted partner to senior, C-level clients, and an equally trusted partner to internal discipline leads. The Creative Director maintains a high bar of creative excellence and collaborative engagement internally and externally, going to great lengths to partner with the other discipline leads to ensure the highest quality deliverables and outcomes for our clients. In this role, you and your partner will set the course and the vision for the team and inspire more meaningful work in the world of B2B.
What you’ll do:
- People | Manage and mentor teams across the office. Build and lead a team of creative innovators. In addition to leading multiple copywriters, you will act as a mentor and help to cultivate the growth of the entire creative team.
- Process | Drive, develop, and deliver presentations, and when appropriate, lead meetings and influence their outcomes. Anticipate team and client needs, project risks, and participate in driving resolution. Inspire clients and co-workers through good work, good spirit, and excellent communication.
- Work | Act as mitigated risk taker, with an insatiable appetite for improvement and creating opportunities. Oversee the translation of the client’s vision into a roadmap that guides our agency, not only to achieve client goals, but also to generate work that is creatively brilliant, measurable, and impactful.
Who you are:
- A Builder | Develops relationships as a trustworthy and essential client partner at the most senior client level and across relevant markets, regions, and businesses; easily recognized and trusted by senior leadership within the agency. Leads and drives large scale agency pitches. Experience generating new business.
- Collaborative | Cultivates partnerships and builds trust by demonstrating a commitment to the success of others, championing a team mentality, and leading by example. Demonstrates outstanding leadership skills and believes in the power of collaboration and attracts the best talent by creating an open and optimistic culture.
- Creatively Brave | Passionate about the power of creativity with the knowledge and authority to identify and nurture the best ideas. Provides flexible solutions, allowing the agency to adapt to solve clients’ challenges.
- Visionary | Both a conceptual and strategic thinker. Energizes and inspires by communicating a compelling client vision, actively managing the development of team members, and promoting diversity and inclusion.
What you’ll need:
- Minimum of 10 years of creative experience; minimum of 3 years B2B experience and 3+ years of senior creative management experience preferred. 3+ years of experience in an agency setting is also preferred.
- Portfolio featuring a wide range of award-worthy creative work.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate in a team-oriented workplace.
- Desire to foster career growth for individuals at all levels on the creative teams.
- Award-winning conceptual skills that will help navigate through the B2B marketing ecosystem and the talent to execute B2B demand-gen campaigns across diverse platforms with multi-disciplinary teams.
- A visionary leader with a strong ability to lead a team of diverse creatives and play nice with others, including account managers, strategists and project managers.
- A strong working knowledge of the “idea-first” creative process.
- Strong ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term needs. Timelines, budgets, and availability change—we need someone who can roll with it. Outstanding listening, interviewing, meeting facilitation, storytelling, and communication skills – both written and verbal.
