Who we're looking for:
As the Associate Director of Marketing, you'll create and execute our marketing strategy. You'll work closely with the Head of Growth & Marketing, UK & EMEA, to build an annual plan centred around marketing-led growth. You'll take ownership of our PR strategy regionally and locally, oversee our agency's internal and external events strategy and support pitch efforts through bespoke nurture strategies. But it's not just about the skills you possess. We're seeking someone with the right attitude and approach to join our Growth & Marketing team.
You'll need to be a self-starter, have gravitas, and be willing to work with all departments of the agency and the wider Wunderman Thompson group to gather what's required. Our agency environment is immensely varied. You'll need to be a creative thinker to help identify opportunities, connect the dots, and work closely with stakeholders at all levels of seniority to craft and execute outreach strategies.
What you'll be doing:
- You will partner closely with the Head of Growth & Marketing, UK & EMEA, to ensure that our marketing efforts are always on, constantly evolving and driving Wunderman Thompson's reputation across the EMEA region, in the UK market and globally within the network.
- You will create the agency’s annual UK marketing plan by guiding our paid, owned, and earned channels to maintain our position as one of the leading markets for marketing activity, regionally and globally.
- You'll also be the go-to person to create bespoke nurture strategies for our biggest pitch opportunities across the UK and EMEA, working closely with the new business team.
- You will lead our Marketing Executive and Catalyst and, oversee all internal comms across the agency.
- PR will be a significant part of your role. You will manage our PR strategy and pipeline. You'll work to coordinate press releases and inbound opportunities, proactively craft agency narratives that build our reputation, and secure speaking, panel, and stage slots across industry events, to elevate our key messages.
- You'll lead our business and people awards strategy, ensuring that our agency continues to be recognized as a leader in the industry. You'll also work with the Marketing Manager, EMEA, to spread best practices across the region. This will involve building strategies and templates, with tailored support offered to our largest regional markets.
- As part of our global community of marketing experts, you'll be on the pulse of global thought leadership. You will craft our client outreach from these. In the UK, you will be expected to craft opportunities from these releases where possible; for example, in the UK, the global Future 100 offers a fantastic chance for client outreach through an annual event, bespoke category reports, future-planning workshops and always-on social content throughout the year
What you'll need:
- The ability to work to tight deadlines whilst managing multiple projects.
- Five years of prior experience in Marketing or Communications in an agency environment
- Proven experience of managing agency comms, both internal and external
- A resourceful nature, with the ability to think on your feet and find a solution that might not be the obvious route at first, while having the confidence to pivot plans at a moment’s notice.
- Effective partnering skills across a wide range of primary stakeholders
- An understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Sprout would be beneficial.
- Ability to voice your ideas while respecting those of others and seeing the bigger picture, both locally and regionally.
- This is a busy agency, and we need someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved.
