Chief Creative Officer
Omar joined Wunderman Thompson Mexico as Chief Creative Officer in October 2021.
Omar's career has not been traditional, his origins in creativity happened in the digital environment. After a series of coincidences, his spectrum of specialty expanded into entertainment, integrated communication, and innovation.
Before WT, he worked for 7 years as VP and partner of the indie agency Only IF for which the agency was awarded Agency of the Year for 2 consecutive years at IAB Mixx awards: most effective indie agency in Effies LATAM, transformative agency of Expansion Magazine, winners in Cannes Lions and Top 5 most creative agencies in Mexico’s Circulo Creativo (including Network agencies).
During his 19-year career, Omar has established himself as a multi-award-winning Creative leader recognized for developing an innovative creative culture in the agencies where he has worked.
Other clients Omar has engineered ideas for: Netflix, Nike, ABInBev, Danone, Twitter, Under Armor, Uber, PG, Kellogg’s, among others.
He also has designed and conducted workshops around Digital Creativity and Storytelling in different schools such as the Mexican Academy of Creativity, IBERO, ITAM, and IAB.
His biggest brief is his teenage daughter who deeply inspires him and challenges him every day to keep his creativity to the fullest.
Omar has won more than 70 awards at different creative festivals, including Effie Awards Mx and LATAM, IAB Mixx, Festival of Media LATAM & Global, FIAP, Smarties, Circulo Creativo, and Cannes Lions.
