Wunderman Thompson, the WPP global communications and experience network, announced today it has joined the MACH Alliance. It is the latest chapter in the company's mission to drive growth for clients through the application of composable technologies to support personalisation, agility and scale across all customer engagement channels. Inclusion into the technology ecosystem certifies that Wunderman Thompson meets the MACH standard of modern technology: Microservices based, API-first, Cloud-native SaaS and Headless.

The company currently has a network of 55 technology centres and boasts over 4,200 commerce and technology specialists globally, generating over $29bn in revenue for its clients annually. With capabilities spanning the entire buying journey, from customer acquisition through to engagement, conversion and loyalty, Wunderman Thompson helps some of the world’s leading organisations deliver outstanding digital experiences across all major routes to market.

Neil Stewart, Wunderman Thompson Commerce & Technology Global CEO, said:

“Becoming part of the MACH Alliance is a natural progression for us, as we've been delivering composable solutions to clients for over a decade, and have long championed agile ways of working and automation across all layers of our solutions. It’s what many clients ask for and will deliver a foundation fit to meet consumers demands in the future.

“For businesses to win in the experience age, they need the capabilities that a composable architecture delivers – speed, innovation and convenience. They need to be able to piece together the right software for the job, quickly and cost-effectively. And they need to be able to pivot quickly, which isn’t always possible without SaaS capability that is effectively plug and play.”

Glen Burson, Wunderman Thompson Commerce CTO for EMEA added:

“Underpinning composable commerce with MACH architecture principles is fundamental to our success: enabling agility through microservices, decoupling components using APIs, providing security, scalability, and operational benefits using cloud native technologies, and allowing businesses to develop customer engagement channels that integrate as headless. As technologists, we’re thrilled to be working with the MACH Alliance to help shape the future of composable experiences.”

The Alliance was formed in June 2020 to help enterprise organisations navigate the complex modern technology landscape. It aims to guide and show the business advantage of open tech ecosystems. All MACH Alliance members meet certification principles that are published on the website. The MACH Alliance is a [501(c)(6)] non-profit organisation, governed by an independent board and does not endorse specific vendors, members or otherwise.

Casper Rasmussen, President of MACH Alliance said:

“MACH compliant partners like Wunderman Thompson are critical to advancing the MACH movement. They know how to assemble, architect and manage a composable, modern MACH solution enabling adoption across businesses beyond digital commerce and online retail. Their breadth of expertise and knowledge will help more industries adopt MACH and thereby see the benefits of open and future-fit enterprise tech.”
