Andrés Porras has served as CFO of J Walter Thompson Puerto Rico since 2015, supporting management on financial and strategic decisions like pricing, contracts, billing terms and other financial issues. Andrés has helped reinforce financial procedures to comply with control environments in place across WPP companies.

Andrés Porras came to Puerto Rico from Venezuela, where he served as Financial Director of J. Walter Thompson and as WPP’s Back Office Director overseeing all financial transactions for JWT, Ogilvy, 141 Coimbra, Geometry, Burson Marsteller, GroupM and Kantar, giving him the opportunity to gain valuable experience in communications, advertising, media, market research and public relations, areas where WPP is a global leader.

Before coming to WPP, Andrés worked as Treasurer and Financial Planning & Analysis Manager for Kia de Venezuela, SEAT Automobiles, and for a major BMW distributor in Caracas. He started his financial career at Petróleos de Venezuela in 1995 as Financial Analyst, working for seven years building his credentials towards a progressive career in finance.

Andrés earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Universidad José María Vargas and an MBA from Universidad Metropolitana, both in Caracas.
