To mark International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, Wunderman Thompson is proud to unveil This Woman’s Work: a video series, WT Talk and social campaign that celebrates and interrogates work, allyship and the women who make our business what it is today.
It’s been over a year since the global pandemic transformed how and where we work. Life as we know it is radically different – and this has had a huge impact on the working lives of women all over the world.
Globally, women are almost twice as likely to have lost their job and have taken on considerably more unpaid work when compared to men. But it wasn’t all bad: research shows that women have been some of the most inspiring leaders guiding the world through the COVID-19 crisis.
These facts inspired us to look inward and speak to women across our own agency to unearth what work means to them, and what’s changed over the past year. From New York to Manila, Commerce to Creative, we spoke to women who represent the full breadth of our business on a truly global scale.
The result of our conversations is captured in this breath-taking video. And to support our global culture of allyship at Wunderman Thompson, we have created our 10 Ways to Be an Ally document for you to share far and wide.
Longer term, Wunderman Thompson will make a lasting commitment to supporting women with Fund Femme. This initiative will tackle gender inequity in our economy by shining a spotlight on female founders and changing people’s spending habits to more consciously support them. Ultimately driving growth for women-owned businesses.
Stay tuned for our dedicated WT Talk on March 18th and Fund Femme activity happening throughout the year. Scroll down to see how our local markets are celebrating IWD.
To the women of Wunderman Thompson: you are incredible. Thank you for everything you do.
