Jason leads the Creative Data practice globally for Wunderman Thompson, inspiring creativity and amazing expertise in data and technology.
This year, Jason and his team created an AI tool for a paint client that translated a person’s description of a color into RGB values, aiming to create one of the largest language-based color libraries in the world. The campaign, ‘Speaking in Color’ bagged a Grand Prix in the Creative B2B category. The project also received a Silver and Bronze Lion, and was one of only 14 pieces of work named to the coveted Innovation Lions shortlist.
In another feat of art-meets-technology-meets-culture, Jason and his team helped unveil the unseen wonders of Saudi Arabia by creating the world’s first content-creating camel. Sarha, the camel, roamed the desert with a camera rig system installed on her hump to demonstrate Saudi Telecom’s wide and deep network coverage, even in the most remote parts of the desert.
His favorite project was for WeCounterHate, which flipped the script on people who spread hate speech on Twitter, to stop hate, one Tweet at a time. Jason and his team created an innovative machine-learning and natural-language processing technology that could identify and classify hate speech by turning retweets of hateful messages into donations for a good cause. The project won a Gold Effie for Positive Change and continues to help address hate speech on the platform.
