Astrid has more than 25 years experience working in the media, marketing and communications industry. Her formal education includes a masters business degree from Henley in the UK, and an honours degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.

She began her working life as a journalist in radio and television, and worked across all genres of content, presenting, producing and executive producing long and short form content for a range of broadcasters and platforms. She co-founded South Africa's first ever home-grown business television channel, and gradually carved out a track record over the years in growing start-up businesses.

Some 14 years ago Astrid made the transition to digital - and consulted for 14 years as a business, marketing and communications strategist to some of South Africa's leading brands representing the financial services, telco, leisure and FMCG sectors.

Astrid joined the agency as Chief Strategy Officer, and in 2019 took the reigns as Group Chief Growth Officer for Wunderman Thompson South Africa.
