Juan Manuel de la Nuez
Juan Manuel joined SCPF in September 2005 after spending two years as Y&R Madrid CEO and 15 years at Delvico Bates, where he was Managing Director. At SCPF, he has worked with clients including BMW, El Corte Inglés and Nestlé and helped transform the agency into one of the most prestigious in the market.
Choosing between a career in advertising and basketball, Juan Manuel choose a long career in advertising. During his youth he combined his studies with playing in Spain’s first division basketball league. After graduating with a degree in Communications, he started at Lintas in 1983 as a trainee in client services, where he developed his strategic thinking skills working for clients such as Renault, Unilever and Citibank. During his distinguished career, Juan Manuel has also worked with clients Mercedes Benz, Allied Domecq, Spanish Tourism Board, BAT, Ikea, Carlsberg, Telefónica, Repsol, Vodafone and San Miguel. As Client Services Director, he led the ‘Passion for Life’ campaign to promote Spain as a tourist destination, and ‘Sense and Sensibility’ – the global campaign launch of the Mercedes S Class.
Juan also attended the Bates Worldwide Advanced Management Program in New York and was selected to the instructor team.
Fluent in Spanish, English and Italian, Juan Manuel learned languages as a youth in Milan from his opera singer father. Juan’s wife Coral is also an advertising professional and they have three children.
