After taking a screenwriting program at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, Manolo received a B.A. in Communications at Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City while simultaneously working as a copywriter for Socios y Asociados, where he won his first creative awards for clients Sears and Sanborns. Next Manolo spent five years as Creative Director at Leo Burnett, where he won awards at Sol de San Sebastián, FIAP, Wave, and Ojo de Iberoamérica for his work on Corona beer, Chrysler, Jeep and Lucas. He also worked on regional campaigns for Kellogg´s and ConAgra foods.

In 2009 Manolo was named a rising star in the Leo Burnett global network. In 2012 he joined Y&R as Group Creative Director working on Danon, Bimbo, Netflix and Expedia. His creative won awards at the Clios, LIA, Ojo de iberoamérica and a Cannes Lions Bronze. In 2015 Manolo became General Creative Director at Marcel MX, the creative boutique, and won a Silver Cannes Lion. Manolo now leads the creative team at J. Walter Thompson Mexico working on AB InBev, Nestlé and Bayer, amongst others.
