Wunderman Thompson Sweeps WPP Atticus Awards

We’re delighted to share Wunderman Thompson has won six top awards and received commendation for two more at the 2022 WPP Atticus Awards – an event which celebrates original thinking in marketing communications on the issues shaping our business, industry, and society.

Congratulations to Wunderman Thompson employees for taking home the awards in six out of the twelve categories – half of the overall top awards at the event! Not only that, but we also received a Merit and Highly Commended in two categories, showing how our industry-leading thought leadership is some of the best in the business.

Meet the Winners

Rachel Hogan and Gareth Jones from Wunderman Thompson’s global marcomms team won the top award for Brand Communications for their article on ‘Navigating Business Transformation’

In the Branding and Identity category, Peter Petermann from Wunderman Thompson Switzerland won for his ‘Inspiration Drives Growth’ paper

Joseph Gilligan and Minos Makris from Wunderman Thompson Commerce were the big winners in the Commerce category for their industry-leading report on ‘Space Commerce’

For the Creativity with Purpose award, Marie Stafford, Sarah Tilley, Jamie Shackleton, Francesca Lewis and Carla Calandra from Wunderman Thompson Intelligence won for ‘Inclusion’s Next Wave’, a new trend report exploring emerging trends in inclusion, revealing a powerful role for brands

Angus McLean and Randy Kohl from Gorilla Group, a Wunderman Thompson company in the US, won the award for Data for their thought leadership piece about how ‘Data and AI can Predict Success’

The winners of the Technology-Powered Creativity award were Josie Klafkowska and Mateusz Chrominskl from Wunderman Thompson Technology, for their piece, ‘Brand Guardian Helps Navigate DE&I’

Johan Van Mol from Wunderman Thompson Belgium received a Merit for ‘AI Models Must be Educated – Morally’, and Chloe Hobart from Wunderman Thompson Commerce was awarded Highly Commended for work on ‘AI: Adopt or Fail’ in the Commerce category

The WPP Atticus Awards are now in their 28^th year and are open exclusively to those working at WPP and their agencies. Competition entries are judged by a panel of WPP senior leaders, with winning, highly-commended and shortlisted submissions being published in the Journal in edited form.
