Challenge

In 1990, Argentina had 34.7 million hectares of natural forests, but by 2015 it had lost 22% of its ecosystems. Within the framework of the International Day of Forests, Fundación Banco de Bosques wanted to increase awareness of the problem and help people become a part of the solution.

Inspiration

Our target was everyone with a smartphone. We had to awaken their commitment to the environment. Realizing that people will help but don’t want to make an effort or spend money, we communicated an alternative to donating that didn't require people to get out of bed.

Idea

Utilizing Spotify, we created an alarm clock that reproduces sounds captured in the Impenetrable Chaco, the Missionary Jungle and the Patagonian Andean Forest. Each time any of our nine tracks is played, Spotify pays royalties to the Foundation that are used to protect ecosystems.

Growth

Our idea travelled beyond Argentina, with people from 63 countries downloading the app. The campaign generated national, regional and worldwide press. In addition, the impact of the campaign guaranteed the conservation of 776 endangered species within the three forest areas we protected.
