Challenge

The European Commission is engaged in countless development partnerships globally through the Global Gateway program, including everything from hydropower to telecommunications. The European Commission wanted to inspire green change, and a forward thinking energy future. VML, as part of a WPP consortium, was tasked to tell that story through 14 mini-campaigns.

Inspiration

VML Copenhagen started a series of regional digital Mini Campaigns to support the European Commission in promoting Global Gateway and its goals for international partnerships and cooperation.

The WPP network consists of VML Copenhagen, VML South Africa, OSL Brussels, and mindShare Brussels helping the initiative along with social and local media channel planning and buying, and influencer activation.

Idea

Authentic engagement with civic life in the target markets means creating content that speaks to the citizens of a given location. We wanted to highlight the beauty and boundless potential of our planet and our people, by focusing on what makes each market unique, compelling, and inspirational.

Working with the WPP consortium, VML has been developing made-for-social campaigns across a wide range of formats, making sure we meet stakeholders where they are, and inspire them with the vast potential of the Global Gateway partnership, and their very own homes.
